Inspired by the Bhaktapur Mandir situated in Nepal, big budget puja in Agartala have built recreated a village synonymous with the real village in Nepal. The pandal bears the shape of the Temples of Bhaktapur and people are welcomed inside through a magnificent gate as same as Bhaktapur Temple Village. The oraganisers have spent aprox Rs 25 lakhs on the decor.
Inside the temple-like structure, there are many rock-cut carvings on the walls. Total 14 temples is being built.
Puja committe secretary of the Bharat Ratna Sangha in Usha Bazar, Partha Choudhury said they had chosen the theme because of the immense popularity of the Bhaktapur Mandir. " We hope this theme will attract a large crowd during the puja," he said. It is not possible for everyone to visit the temples in Nepal, so it is a small effort.
"Idols inside the pandel were made by clay artisans from Kolkata in West Bengal. Decorators are a mix of local artists from Tripura and West Bengal," Choudhury said.
While speaking to our reporter at its Club office Secretary of Bharat Ratna Sangha Rajib Ghosh said, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb will inaugurate this marquee on ‘Maha Panchami at 6 pm and a cultural programme will be organize in the club premises at 5 pm, on the same day. Moreover, five founder members of the club will be felicitated and -club magazine ‘Chhinai will be released.
