Without forest natures balance will be disturbed: Mewar

Agartala: Feb 21: Without forest, the natural balance will be severely disturbed, this will have a direct impact on human civilization, The Minister of forest Mewar Kumar Jamatia said this while inaugurating the second festival organized by the Forest Department at the Ecopark. He said that destruction of forest resources means destruction of human civilization. The present government of the state has taken various initiatives to protect the forest resources.MLA Kalyani Roy, the chief guest of the function and chief whip of the assembly, said that many people make a living from the forest. The state government is making various efforts to enrich their livelihood. Speaking on the occasion, Varun Kumar Sahu, Chief Secretary, Forest Department, said that the Hornbill Festival was organized to make people more aware about forests and wildlife. At the event, the guests handed over a check of Rs. 3 lakhs to the members of the three support teams and a check of Rs. 1 lakh 30 thousand to the representatives of four Biodiversity Management Committees.
