State receives 56,500 Covidshield vaccine
Jan 13: State is all set to start COVID-19 vaccination from January 16.Speaking with our reporter, Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, Director, Tripura National Health Mission (NHM), said the first consignment of COVID-19 vaccine reached Agartala this morning from Kolkata. " we have received the vaccine from the airport at 11.30 am. we have received 56,500 doses of Covidshield vaccine and stored in Agartala state storehouse in Gurkhabasti," said Jaiswal. He further said that all the district officials reached the state sttore with vaccine vans to collect their vaccines. " The vaccines will reache all eight district headquaters with tight security from Agartala by this evening." he said. The first phase of vaccination will start from January 16 across India. “We have received the vaccine from the airport at 11:30 am. In Tripura, a total of 15 health facilities have been identified as immunisation centres.In the first phase, around 45,420 health care workers would be vaccinated. This will be followed by the frontline workers, including the police, armed forces, municipal workers will be vaccinated in the second phase. Data collection templates were forwarded to the urban department, home department and CAPF nodal.
Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said journalists across the state would be covered in the first phase of vaccination as frontline warriors.This comes a week after the Agartala Press Club secretary Pranab Sarkar wrote a letter to the CM requesting him to include journalists in the first phase for vaccination.
