CONTRACTOR’S UNDER SOUBHAGYA YOJONA GIVES DEPUTATION TO AGM

Jan 13: Contractors met on deputation at Sepahijala District TSECL office, bishramganj today.Atleast 40 contractors of TSECL met  AGM Harekrishna Das of Sepahijala and gives deputation anf gherao the AGM as they could not get work order and bill after giving electricity connection under Soubhagya Yojona.The contractors said that they will not release the siege of AGM until they get a good response.Connnection was given for free under Soubhagya Yojona on 2018-19. In August 2016, the Soubhagya Yojona electricity connection was given for free. At that time , the senior manager of DGM SDO came under pressure from them and put pressure on the contractor to provide the electricity connection within 15 days.Under their pressure, Soubhagya Yojona in Sepahijala district didnot get the work order from the higher officials. After two and half years have passed and they had not received the bill yet.Today they handed over a copy of the deputation to Harekrishna Das, AMC of Sepahijala District and gherao the office.atleast 20,000 Saubhagya Yojona connections have been provided free of cost in Bishalgarh Division 1 Jampuijala and Sonamura Rabindranath Division of Sepahijala District. Rs 2300 was chared for each connection, amng them meters and PVC wire provided from his electricity office.Sepahijla district's Saubhagya Yojana has given deputations to a few more places due to non-receipt of their work orders and bills through connections.Saubhagya Yojona  power connection was distributed when Mahananda Debbarma was CMD of Power department 2017. The contractors said if they do not find a solution within 10 days, they will join a larger movement in coming days.AGM Harekrishna Das at the Sepahijala district circle office told the media that he would talk to the higher officials about the matter in case of their work order and receipt of arrears.According to the contractors, there was pressure on the officials of the department to provide free electricity connection to Saubhagya Yojana for free within 15 days in August 2018. Many contractors have worked for free connections by borrowing money for Soubhagya Yojona. Two and a half years have passed, the contractors of TSCEL,has become helpless.
